PURPOSE:To prevent a card where a cipher such as a password is stored from being used illegally by prompting an operator to input a cipher of the king corresponding to one kind of cipher selected indefinitely among read cipher and judging whether or not the input cipher matches the read password. CONSTITUTION:When the selected cipher is a cipher A, 'Input the cipher A' is displayed on a display device 5. Mutually different ciphers are stored for ciphers A, B, and C, and the user inputs the password corresponding to the cipher A through a cipher input device 6. When the ciphers match each other, the cipher matching device 3 outputs a cipher coincidence signal and when not, the operation ends. Thus, the cipher matching device 3 prompts the user to input a new cipher every time the inputted cipher matches the selected cipher and when all ciphers are coincident, it is judged that the user is proper, thereby increasing the effect to prevention against illegal use. Consequently, ciphers are prevented from being used in the same pattern at every time and it becomes difficult to use the card illegally. |
