PURPOSE:To obtain a developer for a waterless phtosensitive planographic printing plate having superior dot reproducibility and to nearly prevent the scratch of the silicone rubber layer by brushing and the sticking of silicate crystals to a brush, etc., at the time of development by adding a silicate and propylene glycol to water. CONSTITUTION:A developer of this invention chiefly develops a waterless photo sensitive planographic printing plate having a photosetting photosensitive layer and consists of a silicate, propylene glycol and water. Other components may further be added to the developer unless they adversely affect the developer. The developer contains the silicate at 0.5-6 wt.%, preferably 4.0-5.0 wt.% concn. (expressed in terms of SiO2) and the silicate is preferably potassium metasilicate, potassium silicate, sodium metasilicate or sodium silicate. The pref. amt. of the propylene glycol is 0.1-20 wt.%. |
