<p>A ceiling fan motor unit (10) comprises a casing (13) and a motor shaft (14) having a hollow lower end (14b) through which electrical wiring (19) extends out from within the casing (13) for connection to electrical wiring (20) of a switch unit (11), wherein a generally tubular coupler (12) is provided at the lower end (14b) of the motor shaft (14) for mechanically connecting a said switch unit (11) from below to the motor shaft (14), the coupler (12) being releasably connectable by threading and a locking screw 25 to the lower end (14b) of the motor shaft (14) and releasable connectable to a said switch unit (11) by screws 27. Alternatively screws 27 may perform the function of screw 25. The threaded motor shaft/coupler may be replaced by a detent locking arrangement. <IMAGE></p> |
