<p>The position and orientation of the mobile sensor (4) are determined by the computing means (1) as a function of the coupling coefficients measured between each of the windings of the sensor and each of the windings of the transmitter (3). These measurements are marred by errors due to the imperfections in the gain of the various elements of the transmission and reception channels: inaccuracies, non-linearities, drifts. In order to eliminate these errors, a fixed sensor (8) is used whose coupling coefficients with the windings of the transmitter are measured in order to serve as a reference for correcting the coupling coefficients between the windings of the transmitter and of the mobile sensor.
