A device for dewatering municipal sewage sludge includes a container 1 for collecting sludge. A vibrating sieve 11, which is known per se or is arbitrary and to which are connected an inlet conduit 15 for feeding sludge from the container to the sieve and two separate outlet conduits 17, 19, namely one 17 for evacuating water and another 19 for evacuating dewatered solid substance, cooperates with the container. The sieve 11 includes at least one sieving element, for example a grating, a cloth or the like, which can be vibrated at frequencies preferably within the range 1500-3000 strokes/min, and through which the sludge has to pass in order to be divided into a waterflow to the said first outlet conduit 17 and a flow of solid substance to the said second outlet conduit 19. <IMAGE> |
