PURPOSE:To obtain a laminate having little errors or distortions in dimension or shape, being light in weight and waterproof, having uniform strength in the face direction thereof, and being easy to process, by a method wherein two wooden base sheets each formed by arranging a plurality of sheet form wood pieces are opposed to each other, with a gap therebetween, in the face direction thereof, and a hard foamed polyurethane layer is provided in the gap to unite the base plates. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 4A formed at a butt end of each rectangular wood piece 4 is fitted, and adhered by an adhesive, to a corresponding projected part 4B of an adjacent rectangular wood piece 4, thereby forming a base plate 2. A foamed polyurethane layer 3 is produced by setting a gap 5 between two such base plates 2, 2, assembling a metallic mold along peripheral parts of the base plates 2, 2 to surround the gap 5, then pouring a polyurethane resin into the mold, and foaming and curing the resin. The laminate 1 thus obtained can be produced in any desired length and width, with a reduced weight and waterproofness. Further, the laminate 1 has uniform strength in both the directions thereof, and is not reduced in the strength at cut parts, so that no additional reinforcement is required. When electric wire or cable, gas pipe or the like is passed through a through-hole 3A formed in the polyurethane layer 3, there is no need for special support fittings or the like. |
