The invention relates to the selective manufacture of 1,1-dichloro-1,2,2,2-tetrafluoroethane by catalytic fluorination of 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane with anhydrous hydrofluoric acid. The reaction is carried out in the liquid phase at a temperature of between 70 DEG and 170 DEG C. and under a pressure of between 10 and 80 bars absolute, in the presence of an antimony-containing catalyst.
