PURPOSE:To compress a picture data efficiently and to reduce the capacity of a storage memory by processing consecutive points of a same data as data toward the scanning direction for each split picture and applying similar processing to each line in the reverse direction. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 10 divides a pattern stored in a RAM 11 into 28X32 divisions or the like and a division picture of picture elements such as 8X8 bits is stored in a RAM 2. Then the division picture is scanned in a reverse direction for each line by the CPU 10 and consecutive picture element points of a same picture are processed into a data and the compression data of all the picture is stored in a RAM 14 via the RAM 3. Through the constitution above, the picture is compressed simply and efficiently and the compression processing is implemented by using a memory with less capacity. |
