PURPOSE:To prevent fouling in a device and faulty recording and at the same time, ensure that drying is prevented by a cover member by providing a sealing member in a microclearance between recording heads and a space between a recording head holding member and the recording head, and thereby eliminating an unnecessary air communication part from the microclearance. CONSTITUTION:A groove is formed all around the periphery of the front plate of each head and a seal ring as the first sealing member is insetted. The seal ring 11 takes the form of an O ring, and blocks the intrusion of the discharged ink into the top of a recording head at a contact point between the head and the seal ring as well as the seal ring and the head block. In addition, an ink seal 4 as the second sealing member, a partition plate 8, ink absorbers 3C, 3M, 3Y, 3Bk are arranged in a recovery system container. The ink seal 4 is arranged between the heads and the entire ink discharge surface of the head block 6, and is made of neoprene sponge. Furthermore, a seal rubber 12 as the third sealing member is provided on the outer periphery of the second sealing member for the recovery system container. The cross- section of the seal rubber 12 takes a recessed form and the ink discharge surface sticks tightly between the seal rubber 12 and the head block 6. |
