<p>PURPOSE:To cause two liquids layered in a tank to be slowly mixed with each other and prevent a roll-over phenomenon, by reducing the ratio of the amount of heat introduced through the bottom surface of the tank to the amount of heat introduced through side surfaces of the tank, in a low-temperature liquid-storing tank. CONSTITUTION:Outside peripheral sufaces of the low-temperature liqud-storing tank 1 are surrounded sequentially by a heat insulator layer 2, concrete 3, soil 4 and a hot-water heater 5. Particularly, the heat insultor layer 2 is so constructed that the thickness of a heat insulator 2a placed at the side surfaces of the tank is smaller than that of a heat insulator 2b placed at the bottom surface of the tank 1, whereby the amount of heat introduced from the exterior through the bottom surface is made to be larger than that of heat introduced through the side surfaces. Accordingly, since the period of time required for the two liquids layered in the tank to be mixed with each other is markedly prolonged, the amount of liquids evaporated at the time of mixing is reduced, and the roll-over phenomenon is avoided.</p> |
