METHOD FOR WATER ABSORBING PROCESSING OF POLYESTER-BASED FABRIC

PURPOSE:To obtain clothes excellent in feeling of wear and antistatic properties with hardly any stickiness by subjecting a polyester-based fabric to corona discharge treatment, then applying a water absorbing agent thereto, heat-treating the resultant fabric and subsequently imparting durable water absorptivity thereto. CONSTITUTION:A polyester-based fabric is subjected to corona discharge treatment and a water absorbent composed of a polyester-based, urethane-based or acrylic resin is then applied thereto. The resultant fabric is subsequently heat-treated. The amount of the water absorbent applied is preferably within the range of 1.0-6.0% expressed in terms of solid content based on the weight of the fabric. The heat treatment is preferably carried out under conditions of 150-180 deg.C for about 30sec to 2min.
