<p>An electrode which comprises a wall of plastics material, an electrically-conductive electrode surface on one side of the wall and displaced therefrom, an electrically-conductive electrode surface on the opposite side of the wall and displaced therefrom, at least one electrically-conductive connecting member in electrical contact with one of the electrode surfaces, at least one electrically-conductive connecting member in electrical contact with the other of the electrode surfaces, and in which the electrically-conductive connecting members are embedded in the wall of plastics material and are in electrical contact with each other.
