PURPOSE:To obtain interchangeability and to facilitate the processing of a continuous data by selecting two formats and giving the same track number to a track in a corresponding position to each other. CONSTITUTION:50 tracks Tr11-Tr150 are disposed in a 1M-byte disk DSC1 and given with their corresponding track numbrs 1-50. Then, a 2M-byte disk DSC2 is correspondent to the DSC1 increased with tracks on the outer peripheral side and the inner peripheral side. In this disk DSC2, tracks Tr21-Tr290 are disposed, and Tr221-Tr270 are positioned to correspond to the 50 tracks of the disk DSC1. Track numbers in the two kinds of formats are given to this DSC2, numbering is executed by providing an offset while taking th interchangeability into consideration. Now, when the disk DSC2 is initialized, two formats can be selected, and when track numbers are given as described above, the interchangeability is easily attained, and the processing of the continuous data, in particular, can be facilitated. |
