The present invention relates to a device for monitoring premises and for recognising persons. It includes an image source (1), an intermediate memory (3), a trip (4) and a memory (8) which are associated in such a way that the intermediate memory (3) preserves the latest images coming from the image source (1) and in that the action on the trip (4) causes the transfer of these images to the memory (8) and their storage. Preferably, the trip possesses several keys (5, 6, 7) and the memory (8) several zones (9, 10, 11), the action on one of the keys of the trip bringing about storage in one of the zones of the memory. The invention exhibits circuits for image processing, for image display and the use of several cameras as image source. <IMAGE>
