The present invention is of the field of machines for agriculture. ts object is a rotary mower, provided with means for adjusting the height of the riding cut, characterised in that the said adjustment means comprise: a straight groove extending over substantially the length of an external screw thread of the rod (11), a "captive" nut (12), that is to say one which is fixed in terms of height with respect to the chassis but capable of being rotated about its axis, the said nut engaging in the screw thread of the rod, a trapping cage (13, 14) for the base of the nut, said cage being secured to the chassis, the internal piece (14) of the cage being traversed by a screw (16) the end of which, termed dog point, is inserted in the groove (15) of the rod (11). As a result of this configuration, rotation of the captive nut in one direction or the other causes the runner to rise or be lowered with respect to the chassis. <IMAGE>
