The invention relates more particularly to the guiding of the belt. In a conveyor according to the invention, the belt (7) is provided on its inner face with a single strap (belt) (8), close to one of its sides. The strap (8) is engaged along the upper strand of the belt between one (1a) of two longitudinal members (1) of the frame, on the one hand, and the adjacent flanks (9a) of idle rollers (9) carrying the upper strand, on the other hand. Around drive and receiving drums (5, 6), the strap (8) is engaged either in peripheral grooves (12) of the latter or, alternatively, between their flank on the same side and an element (11). The invention makes it possible, in particular, to use a drive drum with integral motorisation without it being necessary to modify it. <IMAGE>
