The invention relates to a device for transferring a wood layer 12 , consisting of a number of planks and belonging to a wood pack 11, from one place to another. On hand for such a transfer are a stand 10 and a jib 14 equipped with lifting members and/or holding-together members for the wood layer 12. The jib 14 can be displaced vertically and horizontally through the use of a power source or power sources 17,20. According to the invention, the jib 14 has a length which is greater than the length of planks forming part of a wood layer 12, and the one end of the jib 14 is connected to the stand 10 via control members whilst its other end is free. <IMAGE> |
