This accessory for a bidet comprises bracket means (6) which can be fixed rigidly to the body (2) of the bidet, and a covering piece (7) for the bowl (3) of the bidet (with an optional annular seat (9)), which hinges on said bracket means between a lowered or covering position over the bidet bowl and a raised position to enable the bidet to be used. This covering piece (7) is so designed and arranged that when lowered it provides no obstruction to the tap or taps of the bidet. <IMAGE>
