Shelving system with detachable shelves (13) comprising pairs (1) of vertical posts (2), the posts (2) of any one pair (1) being provided on their opposing faces with dovetail lugs (5) for the attachment of transverse bars (3) whose ends (18) are grooved (19) in such a way as to fit the lugs (5), the system being characterised in that the lugs (5) are separated by regularly spaced interruptions (6) into lengths (7), at the vertices (11) of which there are staples [stop pieces, carriers, riders] (8) having blind grooves (10) complementary in shape to the lugs (5), which staples [stop pieces, carriers, riders] (8) are provided with one or two lateral hooking bulges (9) extending beyond the frame of the pair (1) of posts (2) and engaging with a recess (15) situated in each corner (14) of each shelf (13) so as to support said shelf (13). The shelves are easily assembled and disassembled without requiring the use of tools, and cleaning is easy. <IMAGE>
