In the apparatus for measuring a mechanical parameter such as a force or a moment, which includes a load plate 1 connected to a support 2 by a test body 3 equipped with extensometric measurement devices (strain gauges), there are at least three of these devices and each consists of a single significance extensometric (strain) gauge 5, 6, 7, these gauges are situated in at least two different cross-sectional regions of the test body with respect to the neutral axis thereof and, if two gauges are in one and the same cross-sectional region of the test body, they are arranged along non-parallel directions. It is also possible to compensate for temperature and map the load plate in order to refine the measurement. <IMAGE>
