PURPOSE:To obtain a battery excellent in capacity and performance by using a lithium manganese oxide obtained by adding and mixing a lithium compound to manganese dioxide followed by baking in oxygen atmosphere as a positive electrode, and lithium metal or a lithium alloy as a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:As the active material of a positive electrode, a lithium manganese oxide obtained by baking a mixture in which a lithium compound is added to manganese dioxide in oxygen atmosphere is used. As the active material of a negative electrode, lithium metal or a lithium alloy is used, and it is further combined with a nonaqueous electrolyte containing an alkali metal ion to form a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery. Consequently, a reduction in valence of manganese at the time of reaction can be prevented, and the reversibility of lithium ion accompanied by charge and discharge is improved, and a sufficient discharge capacity can be obtained. Hence, a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery having high discharge electric capacity and voltage and excellent charge and discharge characteristic can be obtained. |
