发明名称 METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR OPERATION OF METALLURGICAL FURNACE WITH SELF-BAKING ELECTRODE
摘要 Self-baking electrode is held on a central longitudinal traction element which projects from the electrode end remote from the melt. During operation (i) further electrode material is added and moulded at the electrode end remote from the melt to conform with and embed the traction element; (ii) the traction element is bonded, by the baking process, to the electrode end facing the melt for taking up lead; (iii) the projecting end of the traction element is held in a self-locking manner, the self-locking being overcome for vertical motion of the electrode; and (iv) the baked region of the electrode is horizontally centred from outside. Also described is a metallurgical furnace operated by the process. Traction element (11) pref. consists of interconnected (pref. tubular) profile pieces (16) with projecting reinforcing elements (12) and is connectable to a self-locking guide mechanism (30). At least the unbaked region (18) of the electrode (10) is surrounded by a tubular electrode-shaping device (20). Baked region (17) of the electrode is centred by an external horizontal centring device (40). ADVANTAGE - Process provides simple and reliable electrode lowering using compact and easily operated equipment and is applicable to various electrode sizes.
