<p>A carbon-cleaning apparatus (10) for diesel engines. Carbon-cleaning apparatus (10) includes a fuel-mixture supply tank (34), an auxiliary diesel-supply tank (52) and a fuel pump (75) interposed therebetween. Diesel fuel is pumped by fuel pump (75) from the auxiliary diesel-supply tank (52) to the fuel-mixture supply tank (34) for mixing with a cleaning chemical, thus defining a first fuel-flow sub-system. A fuel-mixture output line (38) and fuel-mixture return line (40) connect the fuel-mixture supply tank (34) in parallel to the fuel system of a diesel engine, thereby defining a second fuel-flow sub-system. Circuit means including relays (70, 72, 76) controls the first and second fuel-flow subsystems subject to the settings of manually operated switches (32).</p> |
