BLENDS AND FILMS OF LINEAR ETHYLENE POLYMERS WITH POLYAMIDE, AND METHOD OF THEIR EXTRUSION

Heat pressure and extruder torque in the extrusion of linear ethylene polymers as linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) are reduced by adding a small amount (less than 3 weight percent) of a thermoplastic polyamide polymer. Films extruded from the blend exhibit better surface appearance by reduction of melt fracture.
