摘要 <p>A friction element for a friction pair comprises a matrix (1) whose friction surface is reinforced by a coating consisting of a plurality of particles (2) with developed surface of a wear-resistant material. The particles (2) secured in the body of the matrix are protruding out of its surface so as to form microrelief contours (2') and are located on at least one of the coaxial circumferences whose centre coincides with the centre of rotation of the friction element. The microrelief contours are formed by particles (2) so as to provide for a variable area of the friction surface, which decreases in the direction from the zone of maximum stress of the element to that of its minimum stress. Between the particles of the wear-resistant material are located particles (3, 4) of a corrosion-resistant material and of an abrasive material. The reinforcing is effected by any known method, for example by electro-spark alloying or plasma spraying. The invention may be used, for example, in the brake disk or the brake drum of a passenger car, as well as in the clutch plate.</p>
