<p>This invention relates to lectin affinity membranes and methods for carrying out affinity separations of glycosylated proteins using them. The method utilizes a membrane-bound lectin ligand first to capture and separate a glycosylated protein from a fluid mixture and subsequently to release said protein in purified form. The present affinity membrane methods recover high-purity glycosylated proteins. The invention has particular relevance to the recovery and purification of glycosylated proteins from mixtures of biological origin.</p> |
