PURPOSE:To mold a sound absorbing material easily and less expensively by constituting a sound absorbing material layer with a general felt and a booster felt, forming a coating layer or the like of thermoplastic resin on the overlapped surfaces of both felts, and then thermally jointing both felts. CONSTITUTION:An insulator dashboard 10 for an automobile is provided at the cabin side of a dashboard panel 15, and constituted with a sound absorbing material layer 12 and a sound insulation material layer 11. In this case, the sound absorbing material layer 12 is constituted with a general felt 13 approximately trimmed to the outline of the dashboard panel 15, and a booster felt 14 overlapped to the general felt 13 at a position requiring sound insulation quality. Also, a thermoplastic resin coating layer or the lamination layer of thermally bonded nonwoven fabrics is formed on the overlapped surfaces of the aforesaid felts 13 and 14. Furthermore, the felts 13 and 14 are overlapped and heated, and then cold pressed into a desired shape, thereby integrating both felts 13 and 14. |
