<p>A grinding tool support is used in the resurfacing hydraulic turbine blades. The support has a hanger that may be tack welded to the surface of the blade and a telescopic beam that is pivotally connected to the bottom end of the hanger. A load cylinder extends between the hanger and the beam to pivot the beam on the hanger and to vary the load applied to a grinding tool carried by one end of the beam. The load cylinder and a beam extending mechanism are under the control of the operator through the use of controls at the grinder. This alleviates the operator of the heavy loads imposed in overhead grinding under awkward conditions.</p> |
