PURPOSE:To ensure good airtightness and appearance for a vehicle body by providing a weather strip with a projected retaining lip so bent as to come in close contact with a bent portion formed on the outer edge of a body panel. CONSTITUTION:A groove part 1a for the insertion of window glass 2, and another groove part 1b for the insertion of the flanged part 3a of a body panel 3 are respectively formed on a weather strip 1, thereby sealing space between a body outside 5 and a body inside 6 to be airtight. In this case, a plurality of retaining lips 1e and 1f are projected respectively from the weather strip 1 as integral parts thereof. Furthermore, a bent portion 10 curved toward the body inside 6 like a dogleg is formed on the first retaining lip 1e over the range of the intermediate part to the lower end thereof. Also, the curvature R1 of the bent portion 10 formed on the first retaining lip 1e is made approximately equal to the curvature R2 of a bent portion 11 formed on the outer edge part 3b of the body panel 3 in contact with the first retaining lip 1e. |
