PURPOSE:To set thermal writing temp. in a wide range by forming a layer composed of a mixture of a vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoroacetone copolymer and methyl polymethacrylate on a transparent support. CONSTITUTION:A reversible thermal medium 4 is constituted by forming a layer composed of a mixture of (x) pts.wt. (30<=x<=70) of methyl polymethacrylate and (100-x) pts.wt. of a vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoroacetone copolymer on a transparent support. A means charging the surface of a photosensitive body 1 and a means performing thermal writing to the reversible thermal medium 4 are provided to an image forming apparatus and the reversible thermal medium 4 is superposed on the charged photosensitive body 1 to be subjected to entire surface exposure. Next, a toner image is developed on the superposed reversible thermal medium 4 and a recording medium is superposed thereon to transfer the toner image to the recording medium. Herein, when the reversible thermal medium 4 is heated in a pulse like state by the thermal writing means, the heated part is rapidly cooled and becomes an opaque state to form an image part. Thereafter, when the heated part is gradually cooled, it is changed to a transparent state. |
