PURPOSE:To obtain high max. image density by incorporating a combination of a silver halide emulsion and a specified methine dye in at least one of emulsion layers, and incorporating a silver halide emulsion having internally fogged nuclei in that emulsion layer and/or its adjacent nonphotosensitive emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:One of red, green, and blue sensitive emulsion layers contains a combination of photosensitive silver halide and a methine dye having no carboxy and sulfo group on the rings, and its emulsion layer and/or its adjacent layer contains a silver halide emulsion having internally fogged nuclei. Such a photosensitive material is used as a color reversal photosensitive material, and it is prepared by coating each of surface-fogged silver halide nuclei with a silver halide outer shell to form core-shell type silver halide grains, and using an emulsion contg. these grains. The use of a combination of such a sensitizer and the photosensitive silver halide emulsion permits the sensitization effect at the time of sensitizing the silver halide emulsion having internally fogged nuclei to be obtained without deteriorating high image density. |
