Compsn. comprises 0.005-2 wt.% antiinflammatory corticoid (I) plus usual carriers and auxiliaries, and contains 1-50 (esp. 3-10) wt.% jojoba oil (II). Pref. (I) have formula (Ia) where X is H, fluoro or methyl. Y is H, fluoro or chloro. Z is hydroxy, 2-6C alkanoyloxy, benzoyloxy or chloro. R1 and R2 are together isopropylidene, or R1 represents 2H; H, OH; methylene; or H, CH3 and R2 is H, hydroxy, 2-6C alkanoyloxy, alkoxymethyl methylene; or H, CH3 and R2 is H, hydroxy 2-6C alkanoyloxy, alkoxy methyl or benzoyloxy). Pref. (II) is purified and discolourised by treatment with active charcoal. Typical (I) include hydrocortisone, fluorocortolone, dexamethasone and triamcinolone and they are esp. used at 0.05-0.5 wt.%. Pref. formulations are water-in-oil or oil-in-water emulsions or oily suspensions. Pref. emulsions contain 30-49 wt.% internal emulsion with emulsion particle size 1-50 microns (oil-in-water) or 1-100 microns (water-in-oil).
