CATHODE OF CRT AND THE METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

The cathode is for improving the thermal effect of the heater by minimising the heat loss at the lower part of the cathode sleeve and reducing the scattering of the cathode temp. and the electron emission quantity by removing the gap between the cathode sleeve and the cathode structure. The cathode sleeve (3), which upper part is open and lower part is close, includes a pairof holes (3a) which diameter are slightly greater than the one of a heater(5). The upper side of the sleeve is welded to a cathode plate (1) by the diffusion or laser welding method. The lower part is welded to a cathode holder (4).
