PURPOSE:To make correcting operation efficient by deciding whether or not three continuous dot data are on a straight line, performing operation for removing the intermediate dot data in order when they are on the straight line, and repeating the removal. CONSTITUTION:When a Y-directional straight line detecting means 101 discriminates and detects that three inflection points are on the straight line along the Y axis of coordinates informs an intermediate point removing means 104 of that. When the Y-directional straight line detecting means 101 does not detect the straight line, as well as a next X-directional straight line detecting means 102 discriminates and detects whether or not data are on a straight line along the X axis of the coordinates, informs the intermediate point removing means 104 to make process for removing when detecting the removal processing is performed. When neither of the Y-directional straight line detecting means 101 and X-directional straight line detecting means 102 detects a straight line, a slanting straight line detecting means 1023 makes a decision about the same three points and informs the intermediate point removing means 104 that the three points are on a slanting straight line when so. The intermediate point removing means 104 removes data on the intermediate point among the three points from closed curve dot sequence data in a storage means 1.
