A process for producing a product with low water elution during the cleaning of exhaust gases, includes using the halide contg. residue as a component in a raw powder with a CaO/SiO2 ratio of 1.7 - 3.4, for the prodn. of chlorosilicates (DE3906617). The waste gases produced during the thermal treatment of the chlorosilicates, are cleansed and then they are fed to a waste burning unit gas cleansing plant.
