<p>The engine (1) is coupled by a dry-plate starting and clutch coupling (2) to a redn. gearbox (3) and a synchromesh gearbox (4) driving the wheels via differential gearing (5). In the redn. gearbox (3) four gears (A-D) are mounted for rotation on half-shafts (6a,7a) with sleeves movable by hauee hydraulically-operated forks (9,10). One element (6) of the coupling is engaged and disengaged by a piston (11) acted upon by air springs (12). The other element (7) is engaged and disengaged by a piston (14) moved by springs (13) which work against its half-shaft (7a). The pistons (11,14) are actuated by electrically-operated hydraulic valves (16,17).</p> |
