<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject sheet having stable quality in high productivity without using large-sized facility by successively forming a gelling agent layer and a gel matrix layer containing alginic acid salt on the surface of a substrate and applying a gelling agent to the surface of the gel matrix layer. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a substrate is coated with an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble calcium salt (preferably calcium chloride) and methylcellulose at a weight ratio (salt : cellulose) of (98:2) to (30:70), preferably (95:5) to (50:50) to form a gelling agent layer. An aqueous solution of a gel matrix containing >=0.3wt.% (preferably 0.3-20wt.%) of an alginic acid salt is cast on the surface of the gelling agent layer and the obtained gel matrix layer is coated with a gelling agent containing a water-soluble calcium salt. In the above process, a non-woven cloth (preferably a polyether polyurethane non-woven cloth having an areal density of <=100g/m<2>) is laminated on the surface of the gel matrix layer, a 2nd gel matrix layer is formed thereon and the gelling agent is applied to the 2nd layer to obtain a sheet having excellent mechanical strength.</p> |
