MAIZE SEEDS DRYING APPARATUS

The apparatus comprises chambers (3 to 8, 9 to 14) which are arranged about a vertical axis (1, 2), in particular a vertical shaft (15, 16), and which in each case have emptying flaps (27 to 32, 33 to 38) which permit a central emptying via a collecting funnel (39) for further processing of the dried material in a handling hall (40) lying under the chambers (3 to 8, 9 to 14). Above and below the chambers (3 to 8, 9 to 14), air supply channels (20, 20a, 21, 22) are provided in annular form. A flap and slide system permits the serial and/or parallel connection of the chambers (3 to 8, 9 to 14) in respect of their aeration and de-aeration. The base of the chambers (3 to 8, 9 to 14) is air-permeable. Incorporated in the shaft (15, 16), above the collecting funnel (39), is a work platform (41, 44), which permits the servicing and monitoring of the emptying flaps (27 to 32, 33 to 38). A circulating air chamber (20a) with a heat recovery capability, if appropriate using heating pumps, closes the shaft (15, 16) off at the top. If several groups of chambers are provided about several axes, then the supply unit (heating 45, ventilation 46, shaft 47, 48) is arranged between the axes (1, 2).
