The arrangement comprises two cylinders (1,9) the pistons (2,8) of each being rigidly interconnected by a rod (7). The two chambers (10,11) on each side of the piston (8) in one of the cylinders are interconnected by a by-pass line (12) which includes a shut-off valve (13). The arrangement may have the piston (2) of one cylinder rigidly connected to the other cylinder (9). The cylinders are usually located in series. Alternatively, one cylinder may be installed concentrically inside the other. USE/ADVANTAGE - The positioner is safer and more exact in operation.
