A dough kneading machine consists of an endless belt conveyor which moves the lumps of dough along. An endless chain above the conveyor carries bars at a certain distance from each other between which a loose cloth forms kneading chambers. The kneading action is produced by driving the chain alternately faster and slower than the belt so that the lumps of dough touch in turn the rear and the front end of the kneading chambers.
