The braking control system has sensors (1...4) monitoring the rotation of the respective vehicle wheels coupled to an evaluation circuit (5) for regulation of the applied braking pressure for at least one set of braked wheels. The rotation of the non-driven wheels is monitored continuously and the retardation is compared with a min. value to allow insufficient braking to be detected for disconnection of the anti-locking braking function and/or for reducing the drive torque delivered to the driven wheels, to increase the effective braking. Pref. the disconnection of the anti-locking braking function is only applicable to the front wheels.
