The instrument presses a nasal mucous membrane against enclosing tissue. It comprises an inflatable balloon (1) connected to a pressure source (3), there being a controller (2) in between for the degree to which the balloon is filled. The supply can comprise a plunger pump with cylinder, typically a plastics syringe, and connected by a hose to the controller. ADVANTAGE - Ensures even pressurisation of membrane.
