The propulsion unit for hypersonic aircraft. It consists of a duct of rectangular cross-section with gas generators (3) mounted inside. Each gas generator consists of a gas turbine which drives a tangential fan. A number of such turbines are installed and mounted one above another to form two parallel banks. Each bank is spaced at a distance from the duct side wall and there is a space between the two banks. The hypersonic propulsion unit for this type may have a duct of circular cross-section instead of the rectangular cross-section. USE - Hypersonic flight.
