Hydraulic pump with radially sliding vanes - has housing with internal rib which presses the vane inwards

A hydraulic motor which operates on the principle of the sliding vane pump has a cylindrical housing (1) which encloses a coaxially mounted rotor. The rotor (2) has two or more radially sliding vanes which slide in slots formed in the rotor periphery. The vanes (10) are pressed radially outwards by compression springs (9). The housing (1) has an internal rib (5) which extends from the inlet and outlet ports (14) over an angle of 90 deg. The radial height of this rib (5) decreases at a uniform rate from a max. at the ports to zero at the points at which it runs into the inner surface of the housing. USE - Hydraulic motor.
