The grinding wheel or roller consists of segments forming the outer grinding surface. The segments move radially outwards for grinding from their withdrawn rest position. Each grinding segment (2) is carried on the fere end of a swivel or tipping lever (6) hinged to this round axis (9) and at the far end hinged round axis (10) to the inner ring or cylinder (5). The segment is mounted to the lever fere end by a swivel lever (7) which is fixed to the segment and is pivoted round axis (11) to an adjoining swivel lever. There is a tensile spring (8) between fixed and free levers (7,6). ADVANTAGE - Free and fixed lever linkage for grinding segments ensures uniform grind to eliminate off-round areas.
