The vehicle luggage rack system is for carrying elongated loads such as surf boards and skis, it has supports (12) fixed to the vehicle roof (13) and a releasable carrier frame (5). The carrier frame is displaceable along the length of the vehicle and can be swivelled about the roof supports such that it can be separated from the vehicle to form an independently transportable carrier (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Luggage rack system in which the loading and unloading procedures are simplified.
