The frame has at least two upright supports (1) and one cross support, assembled into a self-supporting frame, which links the floor mountings to the seat. The seat is assembled onto the frame complete with squab and backrest. The fittings to the frame can be adjustable at either end. The frame members can be metal extrusions of rectangular, round, or polygonal cross section. The frame layout can be of any convenient shape and size.
