An image-receiving material has an absorption coefft. (Ka) of 0.05 - 0.75 measured with high purity liq. paraffin at a pressure of 0.1 MPa using Bristow's method (J. Tappi No. 51-87). Pref. the material also has a surface smoothness (Bekk) of 200-2000 sec. USE/ADVANTAGE - The receiver materials give high resolution, high density images in thermal printers, facsimile appts., etc. and are economical in use since they allow the thermal image transfer material to be re-used several times without serious loss of image density, rather than the single pass generally possible with prior art image receiving materials.
