<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R<1> is H or lower alkyl; R<2> is H or ester-forming group liable to be broken with the ester hydrolases present in the digestive tracts; (n) is 0 or 1; Z is O-contg. (substituted) saturated heterocycle] or its salts. EXAMPLE:7-[(Z)-2-(2-aminothiazole-4-yl)-2-methoxyiminoacetamide]-3- tetrahydrofurfurylthio-3-cephem-4-carboxyolic acid. USE:An antifungal agent. PREPARATION:For example, a compound of formula II (R<3> is phenylacetyl, etc.; R<4> is benzyl, etc.) is subjected to a reaction with a mercaptan compound of formula III into a compound of formula IV, from which amino-protective group is eliminated, and the resulting compound is made to react with a thiazole compound of formula V (R<5> is trityl, etc.; R<6> is lower alkyl, etc.) followed by elimination of protective group and then, if needed, estrification of the resultant carboxylic acid, thus obtaining the objective compound of the formula I.</p> |
