PURPOSE:To eliminate the complicatedness caused when a source code file of software is edited and to effectively edit the source code file of high quality by operating a pointing device for registration, correction, deletion, etc.,of each source code file and editing the information on connection of modules. CONSTITUTION:When a pointing device 10 like a mouse, etc., is pushed on a screen displayed by a window controller 6, a position deciding device 7 detects the pushing position of the device 10. Then the character string existing at the detected position is decided by a relevant variable deciding device 8, and a character string editing device 9 edits the connection information showing a global variable between modules with an internal identification No corresponding to the pointed character string. Thus the files 1a-1d serving as the source code files are registered, corrected, deleted, etc., based on the commands given from the device 10. Then the information on connection of modules is edited. As a result, the deterioration of productivity and quality can be avoided to the software.
